Horse care standards

What happens between pickup and delivery.

These are the standards we hold ourselves to on every trip. If we ever fall short, we want to hear about it.

Our equipment

  • Air-ride suspension on all long-haul rigs to reduce road vibration
  • Rubber-matted, non-slip floors bedded with shavings
  • Padded partitions, adjustable to standard or box stalls
  • Roof vents, drop windows, and fans for Florida heat
  • Interior cameras viewable from the cab
  • Rigs inspected before every departure and serviced on a written schedule

On the road

Water

Offered at every stop. We can bring water from home for picky drinkers.

Hay

Quality hay in nets, refilled throughout. Your own hay on request.

Heat management

In summer, we schedule early-morning and evening travel and avoid long stops in the sun.

Health checks

Attitude, legs, manure, and temperature monitored on longer hauls.

Paperwork checklist

  • Negative Coggins (EIA) test

Within 12 months — required for all trips.

  • Certificate of Veterinary Inspection

Within 30 days — required for interstate trips.

  • Destination requirements

Some states, shows, and sales add their own; we'll confirm when quoting.

  • Emergency vet authorization

Signed on your booking form so we can act if we can't reach you.

Insurance & licensing

Ozzie and Sons Transport Inc. carries commercial auto liability and cargo coverage for horses in our care. Our federal motor carrier registration details and certificates of insurance are provided with every interstate quote or on request.

Our cargo coverage has limits per horse and does not replace equine mortality or major medical insurance. Owners of high-value horses should confirm their own policy covers transport.
